Administration pages

Administration pages can be found in Wordpress administration (wp-admin) and under RSS Feeds in the menu.

RSS Feeds can be searched, added, edited and removed much like normal posts in Wordpress.

Creating your first feed

A feed, also known as an RSS channel, contains items with article content.

Fill out the fields corresponding to the <channel>'s elements <title>, <description> and <link>.

You can either choose an existing page on your site, or enter a custom URL.

Feed source

Determines which OC articles that will be used as the feed's items.

List

Choose an OC list. When doing so, it will show the current number of articles in the list.

NB: Most feed readers will automatically order items by publication date, so the order of articles in the list may not be preserved to the end user.

Query

Enter an OC query. Only OC items of content type Article will be fetched.

Be sure to use the Validate feed button to make sure there are no errors, and to see the number of matching articles.

NB: To get all the articles matched by your query, the Start from field should be set to 0 (zero). Setting it to 1 would skip the first article.

Item settings

You may uncheck any of the checkboxes to reduce the amount of article information in your feed items.

Teaser image

The image will be attached as a <media:thumbnail> element as well as an HTML <img> element in the beginning of the item's <description>.

Images will be cropped to a 16:9 ratio.

Some feed readers will ignore images that are too small. Feedly, for example, prefers a height and width greater than 450 pixels. So set a decent width to your images.
